On the 16th of April 2015 the short film triplet ‘Echoes from the Drin’ produced by the Act4Drin project was shown for the first time in Struga with huge success. The occasion was a ‘Fair of Good practices’ co-organized by the Macedonian Ecological Society (MES) and the Organization for the Protection and Preservation of Natural Environment in Albania (PPNEA) aiming to promote local goods produced through sustainable practices and raise awareness on the sustainable use of natural resources.
The event brought together some 100 participants, among which officials and mayors from the municipalities of Vevchani and Struga, environmental NGO representatives and volunteers, youth, local people and media representatives. The three short films left an indelible impression to the viewers, who found them very inspirational. The triplet also attracted the attention of the local media.
The ‘Fair of Good practices’ was the final event of the IPA funded project "Enhancing transboundary protection and development of the Shebenik-Jabllanica Mountain Range by active local involvement”, implemented by MES, PPNEA and Euronatur. Apart from the short films, the event provided a wonderful opportunity to MES to share information on the activities and achievements of the Act4Drin project and the Act4Drin ‘sister’ project implemented by MES entitled ‘Water for lakes, bogs, streams and people on Jablanica Mountain’.
