PPNEA was happy to deliver a presentation at the biggest outdoor summer camp held in Albania. Outdoor Ambassadors Albania organized a five days camp with more than 60 young students from all over Albania who spent a week together in Peze, Tirane the last week of August 2015. PPNEA representatives presented to the camp the Association’s work but more specifically they spoke about the ‘’Balkan Lynx Ambassador’s Programe’’, the peer education programe that PPNEA designed and started implementing in Spring 2015. This programe was firstly implemented in two pilot schools in Puke – Mirdite region and 25 students were trained for two days on the specifications, habitat, history and cultural history of Balkan Lynx, an endangered feline. Certificates were provided for the participants and they are now ready to start visiting the schools around Puke-Mirdite region and teach their peers on Balkan Lynx.
Outdoor Ambassadors Albania 2015 showed great interest to become Ambassadors of the Balkan Lynx in their schools and cities-with this, our initiative reaches almost hundred of young students until now, who are trained and willing to protect this endangered species not only for Albania, but for the whole region.
PPNEA together with Outdoor Ambassadors, Peace Corps and other partners are looking forward to organize other training's for the Balkan Lynx Ambassadors starting from Autumn 2015.
