PPNEA organized on 23rd of January 2016 in Librazhd city, the second workshop on "Natura2000 and biodiversity conservation”, as an activity in the framework of Balkan Lynx Recovery Program III.

The 2nd workshop on Natura2000 had three main objectives:

This event gathered together 14 participants from different environmental organizations and institutions in Albania. Most of the participants that took part in this event were from PPNEA staff, while the rest of the participants were from the Regional Agency of Protected Areas Elbasan, NGOs, and professionals. Giorge Fotiadis from SPP NGO, Greece, an experienced professional experts working for a long time with nature conservation and Natura2000 issues was the main trainer and speaker of the event. Initially, a short introduction about the event it was held by S. Furthermore, during this event it was also discussed about specific protocols for designation, monitoring and recordings focused on both desk and field work. The workshop has been a complete success because all the posed were achieved. Participants showed to be very motivated to learn more about the Natura2000 network and the specific protocols for designing and monitoring in both desk and field work. However, Natura2000 network is a complex process and more it should be done in regard to this, in order to raise capacity building of the relevant institution and civil society component.
