In the framework of the regional programme "Wetland Management and Dalmatian Pelican Conservation in the Mediterranean Basin", it was organized for the second time the "Pelican’s Day” that corresponds with the "World Migratory Bird Day”. After the opening ceremony, different outdoor activities were planned in the park.
The visit at Godulla e Vogël and the observation of pelican’s colony from one of the towers were some of the activities. Students of Biology from Vlora University together with pupils of Divjaka Primary School were involved. Promoting the natural values of the park and practicing bird-watching through binoculars and telescopes were the main focus of the visit.
Moreover, in the frame of the same project a fair with local products was organized as an opportunity for the promotion of the local products, eco-tourism development as an alternative source for economical benefit for the local community.
The aim of this activity was to raise awareness of the community for the protection and preservation of natural values of the park(dalmatian pelican in focus) and the sustainable development of the area.
The organization of these activities are result of a close collaboration between MoE and NAPA with the support of Noé Conservation together with the implementing partners DKNP, PPNEA, INCA, EuroNatur, AOS and other stakeholders.
