I was very happy because after completed the application for the tranboundary summer school ‘’Management of silvo-pastoral systems’’, I was one of the chosen students who fulfilled the all the requirements. I was excited because this was the right training for me, due to my studies and my future. This summer school was organized by SPP and gathered lecturers and students from the three sides of Prespa in Greek Prespa leke.
Before the summer school, PPNEA’s representative, Ms Koci explained all the necessary information related to the activity, such as preparatory readings and materials, the detailed programme, the venue etc. She also travelled with us in Prespa and held a presentation about PrespaNet imitative.
In this activity organized from 18th July to 22nd were present 15 students from Albanian, Greek and Macedonian universities and members from PrespaNet.
In addition, the focus of the school was on the management of habitat type 9562* Grecian Juniper Woods in Prespa and the main objective of the summer schools was to familiarize the participants with agro forestry practices and in particularly with the planning and implementation of conservation measures that can be applied at the ecosystem.
During the summer school we had theoretical lessons and field visit to raise our capacities in scientific, socio-economic aspects and management of silvo-pastoral systems. The students had also the possibilities to take part in the monitoring and management of juniperus forest.
This transboundary summer school it was a good opportunity to exchange our ideas and the implementation of the same forest protection procedure in transboundary level.
