Balkan lynx and the box trap
Could have been the first case…two lynx captured in one box-trap! Instead, they went out the same way they went in, and not crossing the middle where the triggering thread is placed. However unfortunate this miss-capture might seems, the fact that there are two individuals, and perhaps mother with a last-year-cub, is of a great importance for the Balkan Lynx Recovery Programme. Enjoy the video.

Captive bears awareness PPNEA TV Spot
Keeping the most majestic animal of our forests in tiny cages and in horrible conditions, is a reality that happens against legal and moral norms. All bears that we see in captivity originate from the wild, being taken as cubs after their mother had been shot by illegal hunters. It is time to say stop to this phenomenon! PPNEA has started an awareness campaign for the long term conservation of this threatened species. All of us can do our part by informing friends on this illegal and unacceptable practice. Join us!

Illegal hunting of wildlife in Albania
In this TV news spot broadcasted today by Planet TV confirms that widespread illegal hunting occur more frequently and with greater impact on wildlife populations in Albania than previously thought, and if unaddressed could potentially cause a 'conservation crisis.' The report challenges previously held beliefs of the impact of illegal hunting in Albania with new data from our wildlife experts Aleks Trajce and Bledi Hoxha. Illegal hunting and pouching has long been recognized as a severe threat to the protected species and is the major concern for the survival of endangered species like the Blakan lynx.
