Melitjan Nezaj

Melitjan Nezaj, born in 1997 in Tropoje, Albania, is a dedicated wildlife biologist with a passion for nature conservation and research. He has accumulated a wealth of experience in the field through various roles and educational achievements.

Melitjan’s academic journey began with a Master’s degree in Environmental Biology from the University of Tirana. With a solid academic background, he began a rewarding career as a wildlife biologist, specializing in the study of endangered species like bats, the Balkan Lynx, the Brown bear, and various others. Through years of hands-on experience, he developed expertise in habitat studies, monitoring techniques, and species conservation practices. He actively engaged in extra-university training on nature conservation and research. Melitjan’s commitment to environmental causes extended beyond academic pursuits, as evidenced by numerous volunteering experiences aimed at protecting wildlife habitats and promoting biodiversity conservation. This hands-on involvement allowed him to foster a deeper connection with nature.

Melitjan’s dedication to environmental stewardship led to a pivotal role as a biodiversity expert for the Albanian Ministry of Tourism and Environment. Currently, Melitjan works as a coordinator for a nature restoration project and participates in various scientific research activities. Working at PPNEA provides him with continuous learning opportunities and allows for a harmonious blend of indoor research and outdoor fieldwork, a balance that resonates deeply with his professional aspirations.
