Roland Lleshi

Roland holds a Master’s degree in Forestry Engineering and Urban Environmental Management in Albania, with a focus on natural resource management. He has professional experience in various fields, including teaching at POLIS University in Tirana, dedicated work in wildlife protection with PPNEA in Albania, and experience in IT solutions.

After years of professional experience in Albania, Roland pursued in 2016 international studies at Eberswalde University in Germany, where he deepened his expertise in environmental management. From 2020 to the end of 2023, he worked at the Berlin-based NGO RGI, managing projects at the intersect of nature protection and renewable energy development, including supporting infrastructure like the electricity grid. Since January 2024, Roland has been a research associate in the Environmental Impact Assessment Group at the Technical University of Berlin, where he focuses on energy communities initiatives, with particular emphasis on the Central and Eastern European region, including the Western Balkans, to support decarbonization, decentralization, and democratization of energy systems through environmental and social cohesion.

His dedication to nature protection extends beyond his professional work, including conservation activism and volunteering efforts in both Germany and Albania.
