On Drino Valley with members of the Saviors of Egyptian Vulture network
The Saviors of Egyptian Vulture network is built in a natural way, meeting after meeting, in the wonderful hilly terrains of Kurvelesh and Glina. This network consists of locals coming from different professions, such as shepherds, livestock breeders, teachers, business owners, vets, etc.

Members of this group play an important role in raising awareness on the local level regarding the threats faced by the Egyptian vulture (Neophron percnopterus), which is the last breeding vulture in Albania. Some of them have even implemented direct conservation measures, such as regularly maintaining the supplementary feeding stations built by PPNEA.

On 13th – 14th of November, in the region of Kurvelesh, our team organized several meetings with members of this network, to whom we gifted necessary equipment, such as thermos flasks, hats, bags, as well as raincoats with the stamped silhouette of the Egyptian vulture. The members were thrilled by these gifts and mostly by the Egyptian vulture emblem, which filled them with joy.

Furthermore, we discussed about the threats faced by the Egyptian vulture, the human-wildlife conflicts, as well as the possibilities for sustainable development in the area.
