Spartak Koçi
Environmental and Biodiversity Expert

Spartak is a results-oriented environmental and biodiversity expert with extensive interdisciplinary experience in research, expert assessments, advisory services, and project management. He has worked with and continues to collaborate with a diverse range of international clients, including RSK Environment Limited, Brunel Energy Europe B.V, and Exergia S.A, among others, to support the construction and operation of major projects. He ensures compliance with national legislation and alignment with global standards, including guidelines and lender requirements from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the World Bank. His project portfolio spans various sectors, including oil and gas, highways, and renewable energy.
From July 2015 to the end of 2017, Spartak worked with PPNEA, contributing to the sustainable management of high-value natural areas by promoting sustainability, enhancing community benefits, and conserving biodiversity at the ecosystem level in Albania and across the Balkans. Additionally, he was actively involved in advocacy and lobbying efforts, building strategic relationships with stakeholders to advance environmental conservation initiatives.
Spartak holds a joint M.Sc. in Sustainable Forest and Nature Management from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and the University of Padua, Italy (2012–2014), an M.Sc. in Land and Water Resource Management from CIHEAM–Bari, Italy (2010–2012), and a B.Sc. in Agro-Environment and Ecology from the Agricultural University of Tirana, Albania (2004–2008).
Spartak’s primary focus remains advancing environmental protection, preserving natural ecosystems, and fostering sustainable solutions in Albania and on a global scale.
