Position: Finance Officer

The Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the financial management and reporting of projects co-funded by European Union funds and other international donors. The Finance Officer will oversee the administration, monitoring, and financial reporting of projects, ensuring that all expenditures, financial procedures, and reports are fully compliant with the financial rules and guidelines of European Union programs (LIFE, Interreg, IPA) as well as the organization’s financial policies. This position requires close collaboration with project managers and the leadership team to plan and implement project budgets, prepare financial reports according to donor requirements, and ensure transparent, efficient financial management in line with the standards of EU-funded projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor the financial implementation of projects co-funded by European Union funds and track the execution of project budgets.
- Prepare periodic financial reports for donors, in compliance with EU program rules and standards.
- Ensure accurate recording and documentation of all project financial transactions.
- Review financial documentation to guarantee compliance with EU rules and organizational financial policies.
- Support the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits of EU-funded projects.
- Collaborate with project managers to plan, monitor, and analyze project budgets and expenditures.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial budgets for new project proposals.
- Ensure proper archiving and organization of financial documentation according to standards required by donors and EU funding programs.
Candidate Requirements
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in financial management, accounting, or project finance, with direct experience in EU-funded projects.
- Proven experience in financial management and reporting for European Union-funded projects is essential.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong command of English, both written and verbal, for professional communication and reporting.
- Strong analytical, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
