Ilir is an experienced forest engineer with 15 years of experience contributing to nature conservation, both at the local governmental level and at PPNEA. He has graduated from the Faculty of Forestry Science at the Agricultural University of Tirana with a passion for habitat and biodiversity protection.

In 2013, he became part of the local monitoring network in the Puke-Mirdite region for the Balkan Lynx Recovery Programme, and since 2016 he joined the PPNEA team as monitoring and researcher for wildlife all over Albania.

Ilir is always on the tracks of large carnivores, such as the Balkan lynx, brown bear, wolf, and golden jackal. He also contributes to conservation efforts for primary forests and wetland habitats.
