The third UN Ocean Conference is taking place from 9th to 13th June 2025.
We are facing a triple planetary crisis – climate change, pollution and the loss of biodiversity are massively affecting our blue planet. The Ocean is our most important ally in overcoming these crises, but it is increasingly out of balance and being threatened, degraded or destroyed by human activities.
A healthy and resilient Ocean is essential for a future worth living on our blue planet. Therefore, we must act now. OceanCare’s campaign Because Our Planet Is Blue is raising awareness and calling for urgent action to protect our Ocean. The UN Ocean Conference in June 2025 is our opportunity to push for global action to protect the Ocean and to ensure that decision-makers take bold steps toward a sustainable future.
The Ocean sustains all life on Earth. Now it needs our help more than ever.

The petition “Because Our Planet Is Blue” calls on the world’s governments to use the UN Ocean Conference in June 2025 to agree upon taking effective action to tackle the most pressing threats to marine life. The Ocean needs to be protected and restored so that its inhabitants can survive and thrive.
