2021 marks the 30th anniversary of PPNEA’s establishment. But, as you may imagine, there was a time when we were only a social movement, which gathered passionate individuals into the shared cause of protecting the natural environment of Albania.
Our beginnings can be found at the work of Prof. Dr. Lekë Gjiknuri, the honoured academic who, in the difficult transitional period of the 90’s, integrated the natural causes at the center of public debates.
Professor Gjiknuri was an exceptional man and a courageous public figure. Every member of our organization follows its role model for achieving the ultimate aim of bringing harmony between nature and human society.
