Open Call: Urban Planner / Landscape Architect

The URBiodiversity Project is seeking to engage an Urban Planner or Landscape Architect to support the regeneration of a public urban pocket in Tirana. This initiative aims to enhance biodiversity in the city by integrating native plants, improving ecological resilience, and fostering active community participation in the design process.

The selected expert will:

• Design and plan the regeneration of a small urban space with a focus on native vegetation, biodiversity enhancement, and ecological sustainability.
• Facilitate community engagement processes, ensuring local residents and stakeholders are part of the design and decision-making.
• Develop design concepts that balance aesthetic, functional, and ecological values.
• Provide technical guidance during the planning and implementation phases.
• Collaborate with the project team to align the design with the project’s environmental and social objectives.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should demonstrate:

• A degree in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related fields.
• Proven professional experience in urban regeneration, sustainable landscape design, or green infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with native plant species and principles of ecological restoration.
• Experience in community-based or participatory design processes is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
