“Munella Nature Conservation Camp 2026” 23 – 29 August 2026
Would you like to spend several days in the heart of nature, learn about Albania’s biodiversity firsthand, and contribute to scientific field research?
PPNEA is pleased to announce the call for applications for the Munella Nature Conservation Camp 2026, a unique experience in the Munella region. Participants will have the opportunity to explore nature, learn practical biodiversity monitoring methods, and contribute directly to scientific field research and data collection.
During the camp, you will gain deep insights into PPNEA’s long-term research and conservation work in the Munella region, focusing on the protection of endangered species. Main activities will include:
- Large and small mammal monitoring: Special focus on the Balkan lynx, its prey, and the brown bear.
- Advanced field research methods: Hands-on experience with camera trapping, radio telemetry, and genetic monitoring.
- Habitat mapping and learning about crucial ecological corridors.
- Identification and documentation of local flora.
- Conservation insights: Understanding the vital importance of the Munella Nature Park and collaboration with local communities.
- Educational discussions, group activities, and evenings in nature alongside biodiversity experts.
This camp aims to bring together young people, university students, nature enthusiasts, early-career professionals, and volunteers who are interested in gaining practical experience in biodiversity conservation.
