The Vjosa Delta, created over the centuries by the river’s constant flow, is among the richest natural areas that Albania has. This coastal wetland, also known as the Vjosë-Nartë Protected area, is a vital part of the nation’s and the continent’s natural and cultural heritage.
The unique sand dunes, lagoons, and forests of this protected area face the risk of being taken over by concrete resorts and aviation infrastructure, which would permanently destroy the wildlife that depends on these habitats!
