Environmental education has always been an integral part of PrespaNet’s activities. We truly believe that through public awareness and importantly, by getting the youngest excited about nature conservation, we can provide sustainability to our actions.
PrespaNet officers work across schools in the transboundary region, engaging school children in classroom and outdoor activities. We aim to standardize the ecological information pupils receive between all three countries through developed educational packages. Whenever possible we also have students experience fieldwork and biodiversity, firsthand, through initiatives, such as “Wild Side of Prespa” organized for high school students and enthusiasts in North Macedonia or the “Presplorers” in Greece.
This year for the first time, PrespaNet will bring together teachers from Albania and North Macedonia to train them in the implementation of environmental education and stimulate transboundary collaboration.
