Representatives from Albania (PPNEA and AbVets), Croatia, and Montenegro recently gathered together in Greece, at the Veterinary Medicine School, Faculty of Health Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki for a workshop on the Mediterranean Monk Seal.
The aim of this workshop was to enhance the technical capacity of veterinarians in Albania, Croatia, and Montenegro for providing first‐aid for Mediterranean monk seal and recognize the importance of their participation in the RINT (Rescue Information and Network Team).
The participants in this 2-day workshop received training on the methods and procedures for rescuing and rehabilitating Mediterranean monk seals at all stages of their ages, the difficulties in managing disease, and had the chance to practice necropsy and implement meticulous dissection, observation, and interpretation of the entire procedure.
It was an invaluable experience for all the veterinarians who attended.
