The first Saturday of September each year represents the International Vulture Awareness Day. Albania is country known in the past to be home for the four species of the European vultures: the Bearded Vulture, the Black Vulture, the Griffon Vulture and the Egyptian Vulture. Nowadays only one of these species has survived with a very small population being in the edges of extinction. For more information on vultures in Albania please see this short video. The study and conservation work for vultures in Albania is supported by the EV NEW LIFE project coordinated by BSPB. Full video here, on our Youtube Channel.
