The joint group of PPNEA & AWRT headed to Golem of Gjirokastra last week for the most exciting of rescue missions.
After one month of continuous care of the Albanian Wildlife Rescue Team, the golden eagle which was found injured made its way back to recovery and was ready to get back at its only home, wild nature!
In the first moment that it was set free, the eagle made the first flight toward a roof, enjoying the first contact of freedom and took a look back to greet us once more and then took the final flight toward the mountains.
We hope that this juvenile individual of the golden eagle will be there for as long as possible, so in this way the name “Land of eagles and castles” will be well deserved.
We thank the local community and our friends of Kaonia Tours which assisted in this mission.
