Besides field monitoring of the marine caves in Karaburun-Sazan National Marine Park together with RAPA Vlore for the presence of the Mediterranean monk seal and potential resting sites, PPNEA team started the collection of the data through the direct interviews with locals, fishermen and tour operators for identification and the situation of the seal in the region. Due to the presence of a young individual of monk seal in Vlora and our intensified work in this area might be promising for the situation of the seal in Albania.
