The decision-making authorities’ true approach regarding our natural resources has been brought to light by the precedent set by the Vlora airport, which has started construction within the Protected Area.
The Vjosë-Nartë Protected Landscape, one of Albania’s precious natural gems, is set to be destroyed in the sake of development, indicating that Protected Areas exist only on paper.
Meanwhile, the Vjosa River’s designation as a National Park has lost its ecological integrity before it has even begun its journey, as its estuary is being transformed into an international airport!
