Last week, the PPNEA local office in Prespa National Park had the pleasure of hosting Dutch Ambassador Reinout Vos and his wife, Corien Vos, along with PONT’s Executive Director Mirjam de Koning.
During the Ambassador’s visit, he explored Maligrad island, an essential habitat for various reptiles, amphibians, and bird species, as well as a site of cultural significance housing the ancient St. Mary church. As part of his itinerary, the Ambassador actively participated in educational sessions with students from Pustec and Gorice e Vogel schools, organised by PPNEA and RAPA Korçë education staff. The focus was on enlightening children about Pelican species and white storks.
The key stakeholders of the area, including the Municipality of Pustec, RAPA Korce, OSHEE, and SPP partners, collaborated in witnessing the installation of the second white stork platform in Prespa National Park, a symbolic conclusion to this impactful visit.
