On October 26, the dedicated team at our local PPNEA office joined forces with the Korçë Regional Administration of Protected Areas to bring environmental education to the pupils at the “Rezistenca e Goricarëve” school.
As part of the “Dalmatian Pelican and Great White Pelican” environment education package, the students learned more, in an interactive lesson that centred on a comparative analysis of the two pelican species, using the Venn Diagram method.
But the fun didn’t stop there! The day also featured two engaging activities: a “Memory Competition” and an “Environmental Creativity” session.
Gordana Stavre and Marina Themelko’s outstanding work stood out and they were hailed as the winners of these activities.
And what’s more, it wasn’t all just theory! On October 30, the students had the chance to put their newfound knowledge to the test during a practical field session. Led by our bird experts, they did an unforgettable journey of observing and counting the birds of Prespa’s Lake using telescopes.
And the best part? They’re eager to become regular participants in the monthly bird censuses of Prespa Lake!
