BirdON Students and PPNEA Volunteers Unite for Planting Initiatives in Vjosa-Narta Protected Area. After successfully completing the course hours, BirdON students, along with PPNEA volunteers and ADZM Vlorë, organized a tree planting initiative in the Protected Area of Vjosa-Narta, where around 200 Mediterranean pine saplings (Pinus pinea) were planted. Also, with PPNEA experts, they observed characteristic birds of Narta Lagoon, such as Flamingos, Kingfishers, Pelicans, Cormorants, and many others. During the second day, an educational session took place at the 9-year school “Kalif Malaj” in the village of Bishan, part of the Protected Area of Vjosa – Narta, where students learned more about biodiversity in Albania. Narta Lagoon is one of the most important lagoons in the Mediterranean. The construction of Vlora airport, is the biggest threat to this diverse biodiversity!
