21 May marked the 14th anniversary of the proclamation of Shebenik National Park. Home to a number of endangered species, including brown bear, wolf, Balkan lynx, etc. The park offers some of the country’s most beautiful mountain landscapes, ecosystems that include glacial lakes, valleys, meadow forests and alpine pastures. Thus creating an area with high biodiversity values.
In the framework of the project “Protected areas for nature and people” within this park, PPNEA supported the celebrations organized by RAPA Elbasan and the local community, to better promote the area.
Such events highlight the cultural and natural values of the Shebenik National Park, as well as encourage a peaceful coexistence between nature and people.
