In the heart of Prespa, there is an office dedicated to the protection and preservation of natural environment, aimed at raising awareness among the pupils of elementary schools in Pustec, Kallamas, and Goricë e Vogël about the conservation and protection of nature. On February 2nd, we organized an education activity with students from these schools, at Prespa National Park, celebrating World Wetlands Day. Wetlands were portrayed through drawings prepared by our local team, as ecosystems where various waterfowl, unique plants like alder, and other species such as amphibians and reptiles. These habitats hold significant importance, recognized under Natura 2000. The session aimed to instill a deep understanding of wetland conservation and sustainable management. The message echoed the importance of preserving these delicate ecosystems. The event concluded with the pupils enthusiastically sharing their reflections on PPNEA’s “Nature Diary”, a testament to their newfound appreciation for the wonders of nature.
