Global Bird Weekend is one of the biggest birdwatching events, where teams of ornithologists and nature enthusiasts gather for counting birds in order to raise awareness about the importance of migratory species as well as preventing their illegal killing.
Beside the official aim, this event includes also an entertaining component, such as the organization of an unofficial challenge, where the birdwatching teams race with one another for counting as many bird species as possible. This is why we invite all of you to join Global Birding in the future.
The ornithological team of PPNEA chose the Prespa National Park for counting birds, covering a wide range of habitats which shelter many nationally and internationally important bird species.
