This concept refers to the interconnection between different habitats, protected areas, as well as large-scale ecosystems, which ensures the continuity of natural processes, while eviting nature fragmentation.
Despite the fact that protected areas in Albania cover around 17% of the country’s territory, they are isolated from one-another, limiting the interconnection of habitats and the ecosystem services.
