Journey for the Preservation of Freshwater Ecosystems Buna River Protected Landscape and Bojana Delta

Freshwater ecosystems are the lifeblood of our planet. From winding rivers to serene lakes, these aquatic wonders play a crucial role in maintaining Earth’s delicate balance. The transboundary Buna River and Bojana Delta are in special focus through the implementation of the CEPF-funded project “Setting the Foundation for a Sustainable Future for Buna River Protected Landscape in Albania and Bojana Delta in Montenegro”.

PPNEA in collaboration with Program Za životnu sredinu – EnvPro and relevant local stakeholders will conduct key studies on this ecosystem having a clear panorama of the actual situation of fauna found in this ecosystem and work on its conservation.

Besides the role of biodiversity hotspots, climate regulators, and connectivity insurance, these vital ecosystems request our commitment and shared responsibility for their conservation. Every drop and every species found on it counts!
