In a remarkable initiative led by Roland Lleshi, for the third year, Munella National Park witnessed a transformative event yesterday. Partnering with PPNEA and Heinrich Böll Stiftung Tirana, the collective effort brought together passionate volunteers for the inaugural year of planting 2000 saplings. Notably, the Municipality of Fushe – Arrez, the Regional Administration of Protected Areas from Shkoder, Kukes, and Lezha joined forces in this crucial endeavour.
This groundbreaking marathon of reforestation holds profound significance for Munella, an area once thriving in biodiversity but now scarred by logging and fire. The impact on the habitat of the Balkan Lynx has been devastating. However, through this united initiative, hope is being planted alongside each sapling.
This joint inspiration serves as a powerful call to action, urging us all to safeguard and rejuvenate Munella Nature Park for generations to come.
This transformative initiative to restore Munella Nature Park extends beyond yesterday’s event, the journey of reforestation will continue into the first months of 2024.
