Municipality of Kukës as a role municipality of the European Green Belt
Municipality of Kukës played a very active role in the designation of the Korab – Koritnik Nature Park ten years ago and has continued to be involved in the region ever since. For this reason, was held an award ceremony on 9 November in Kukës, where Gabriel Schwaderer – EuroNatur Executive Director congratulated the entire municipality and in particular mayor Safet Gjici, awarding him by European Green Belt Association for its contribution to nature conservation along the Balkan Green Belt.
After the award ceremony at the municipality of Kukës, we had a visit at the Ethnographic Museum of Kukës, to show our partners the cultural and natural values of the area.
Also, in three days field trip, PPNEA organised an outdoor tour around Kukës for our partners and other environmental organizations which are envolved in the Green Belt Project, to show a clearer idea on working in important future projects.
It is important to mention AdZM Kukes and Adzm Diber, for their contribution to the management and implementation of various projects in the Korab – Koritnik Natural Park.
It was a pleasure to gather all together, evaluating the possible areas for the area development and exchanging ideas for the following work.
