If you are passionate about the environment and wildlife and would like to volunteer in scientific research, you are invited to become part of the national network for genetic monitoring of the brown bear.
All our supporters, everywhere in Albania, are invited to become part of the initiative through field expeditions for the collection of genetic material, to make possible the first-ever assessment of the brown bear population in Albania.
The initiative is being carried out as part of the regional project Life DinPin Bear, in cooperation with the National Agency of Protected Areas.
The volunteers involved will receive preliminary training, financial compensation for expenses, and, in cooperation with PPNEA, will cover specific mountainous areas of Albania.
Monitoring will be carried out during the period September–November, with the participation of over 80 members of the monitoring network.
The criteria are simple:
- Be a nature and wildlife lover
- Have sufficient physical preparation for walking in nature
- Set aside 7 days of your time during the September–November period for scientific research
