The Egyptian vulture and the White stork came back home
Spring came to our country and this news was conveyed today by the members of the network “Savers of the Egyptian vulture” in Albania. The first news were about the arrival of an individual of white stork in the nest of Lake Viroi in Gjirokastra, and a few minutes later we received the great news of the arrival of the Egyptian vulture in two of the few remaining territories in Albania. In addition to the joy we get from the arrival of these magnificent birds, these news are experienced by us even more when they come from the locals, residents and friends who live in the territories of the Egyptian vulture. It is a special feeling of happiness to experience how the inhabitants of those areas have already become sensitive and attentive, not only to the Egyptian vulture but also to other rare species of our country. The “Savers of Egyptian vulture” network was created by PPNEA to unite nature lovers, who live and work at the places where the last territories of the Egyptian vulture are located in the country, but not only. They are already our friends, and we are glad and fortunate that we have known them and collaborate for almost 10 years for the study and the protection of the last breeding vulture in Albania. Thanks to them and their work in preventing the threats the species are dealing with and the continues care and maintenance of supplementary feeding stations, we become more faithful in recovering  the population of the Egyptian vulture in our country.
