Open letter of the environmental NGOs regarding the COVID-19 crisis and the actual and future challenges in the field of environment, addressed to the decision making bodies in the country: Don’t make any decision without providing transparency and participation!
PPNEA together with other environmental NGOs in Albania joins the call of WWF Adria for restricting the decisions that are not urgent for the health and the security of the people which also bring irreversible consequences in the environment if the decision making transparency is not provided.
Open letter of the environmental NGOs regarding the COVID-19 crisis and the actual and future challenges in the field of environment, addressed to the decision making bodies in the country: Don’t make any decision without providing transparency and participation!
PPNEA together with other environmental NGOs in Albania joins the call of WWF Adria for restricting the decisions that are not urgent for the health and the security of the people which also bring irreversible consequences in the environment if the decision making transparency is not provided.
In the open letter addressed to the Prime Minister, the President and the Speaker of the Assembly, and as well as for the knowledge for the Minister of Tourism and Environment and the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, WWF, INCA, EcoVolis, Milieukontakt Albania, REC Albania, AIC Shkodra, EDEN, EcoAlbania, SHBO, PPNEA, TOKA, bring to the attention of the decision-makers some recommendations that will accelerate the transformation towards a climate-friendly economy, an economy that respects the environment and restores the nature, the health and the wellbeing of the people, without allowing anything to go to waste. The organizations recommend :
•To support and strengthen the implementation and financing of the existing environmental standards and policies in order to address the climate crisis, the loss of biodiversity, and the pollution of the environment.
•To increase the investment in awareness-raising and education in relation to human rights, sustainable development, and nature protection, while strengthening our society to be able to face future challenges.
•To be made possible the distribution of the stimulus funds and the mitigation measures following the conditions, in accordance with the Green European Agreement and the Agreement of Paris, in order to direct our economy towards sustainability.
•To start large scale and sustainable initiatives in accordance with the public interest.
•To provide support for the civil society (local) organizations.
